Valencia and Alavés sign a bittersweet draw

Valencia and Alavés signed a draw that gives them a point that continues to be a frustration for the locals, who continue without finishing their permanence, and a hope for the visitors, to whom Javi Calleja has resurrected by adding eight points of twelve but, above all, by restoring confidence. But the Basque team found themselves with three points after John Guidetti overtook them and Valencia saw themselves lighting the red alarm light, so the goal with which José Luis Gayà reestablished the tables sealed a bittersweet draw for both.

Valencia came out ready to dominate. Heeled to the left, Guedes waved his attack. His dominance was altered by a pass into the hole from Pina to Edgar, who served a center back for Peleteiro to open the scoring but the linesman was right when he noticed an offside from the assistant.

After the scare, Valencia regained control. Lejeune thwarted a shot by Maxi and Pacheco had to go to the edge of the area to steal a ball from Gameiro on the line of the area.

After the break, Guedes continued drumming. He threw a wall that a rival returned inadvertently and yielded again to the French, who this time did not miss. But the VAR found a positional offside of Maxi, who was the one who forced the rebound.

Seeing the panorama, Javi Calleja moved the bench and made the changes right. His team gained solidity in the center and mordant above. Jaume had to stretch to get a volley from Joselu and Gayà hit a good sprint so that Pons did not stand alone in front of the goalkeeper. In the third, Guidetti took advantage of a loose ball to score but almost on the horn the play was repeated in the opposite area and Gayà finished off Pacheco's rejection to a shot from Maxi.
