Mayoral knocks down Bologna and straightens the course of Rome

It was a 'final' for Paulo Fonseca's team and he did not fail. After scoring just one point out of a possible 9 and walking away from the fight for fourth place, Roma set the course by beating a combative Bologna.

The ‘giallorossi’ box suffered to secure three vital points and re-enlist in the fight for the Champions League, but in the end he decided Borja Mayoral's solitary goal at the edge of the break.

Encouraged by their triumph against Ajax in the Europa League, Roma resumed the path of victory, entering the duel against Bologna disciplined.

The visiting team was the first to approach the rival goal, but Mirante, substitute for Pau López, substitute this Saturday, avoided Soriano's goal.

Equality reigned in the game, however a defensive error by Bologna gave way to Mayoral's goal. The ex-Madridista won the game over Danilo and with a soft touch he overcame Skorupski's exit to score on an empty goal. Spectacular maneuver and prize for a Rome that had hardly generated danger.

In the second half, the game leaned in favor of the Romans, who did not finish against it and suffered to tie up three important points to reengage in the fight for Europe.
