The Bernabéu will have a casino

Real Madrid seeks formulas to increase its income, with which to alleviate the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. And the reform of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium has a central role in this matter: it already was before the COVID-19 crisis began and now it gains more strength due to the financial boost it will give the white team when it is fully operational. And in that idea, Madrid has included a casino inside the stadium.

This is how 'Insider Sport' and Palco23 tell it, which explains that the sports betting entertainment center could generate up to 120 million euros extra per season for Real Madrid. It would be one of the many additions that the new white stadium will have, whose works end in May 2022, in principle, with which Madrid hoped to boost revenues by up to 150 million euros more per season.

The income of the new Bernabéu

That plan includes a much greater offer of restoration within the stadium, which until the beginning of the coronavirus crisis was barely less than two million a year; an eSports center in which to join the new technological trend; another Adidas store like the one on Padre Damián street, but in Castellana, an area with a greater influx of public; the expansion of the Bernabéu Tour with a panoramic space specially designed for tourists; and other issues with which Madrid hopes to raise new income with which to alleviate the consequences of the current situation and relaunch your project.

The renovation works of the Santiago Bernabéu began last season and will last for another year and a half, at the very least. The building license is granted until October 2022 and the cost of the reform initially budgeted is 525 million euros, for which Real Madrid requested a loan of 575 million that will begin to repay from June 2023, at a rate of 29.5 million euros per year until 2049; In short, the reform will have cost Madrid almost 800 million euros.
