The Basque Committee referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea is among those appointed by UEFA for the group stage of the European Under-21, which will take place from 24 to 31 March in Slovenia and Hungary.
The Spanish referee team It will be completed with Iñigo Prieto López de Cerain and José Enrique Naranjo Pérez as assistants to direct group A and C clashes to be played in Hungary.
The Spanish team, which will defend the title won in Italy in 2019, will be part of group B together with Slovenia, Italy and the Czech Republic and will play their matches in the Slovenian towns of Maribor and Celje.
The first will be against the hosts on the 24th, the second against Italy on the 27th and the last of this phase on the 30th against the Czech Republic.
The group champions and the runners-up will access the final phase that will be played from May 31 to June 6.
If Spain finishes first of their group in the quarterfinals they will face the second of group D, which is made up of Croatia, England, Switzerland and Portugal.
The semi-finals will be played on June 3 and the final three days later in Ljubljana.
The Netherlands, Ukraine, Hungary and Romania will form group A and the teams of Iceland, France, Denmark and Russia will form C.
