Murray will not play in Dubai after being a father for the fourth time

Briton Andy Murray will not play in the 500 category Dubai tournament next week due to the birth of his fourth child. Murray joins the resignation of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal's refusal to accept an invitation to play the tournament on hard court.

Dubai was to be the fourth tournament of the season for Murray, who missed the Australian tour, including the first Grand Slam of the year, after catching the covid. The Scotsman reached the final of a Challenger in Biella (Italy), before falling in the first round in Montpellier and in the second in Rotterdam.

This is the third major absence from the tournament, after Federer will resign this Thursday, after ending his participation in Doha with a defeat in the quarterfinals, and after Nadal's refusal to accept an invitation to play the final draw.

Two daughters and two sons

Former World No. 1 Andy Murray and his wife Kim have welcomed their fourth child. The couple, who got married six years ago, have already had two daughters: Sofia, five years old; and Edie, three, plus her one-year-old son Teddy.

The 33-year-old British star has participated in three tournaments this year, being a finalist last month at the Biella Challenger Indoor. 1, ATP Challenger Tour category.
