The Elche has managed to close the day, after his victory against Sevilla (2-1) and the results of several direct rivals, outside the relegation zone to Second Division for the first time in the last two months of competition.
The team from Elche fell to the last three places in the classification last January 11 after being defeated at Martínez Valero (1-3) against Getafe. Since then, Elche played nine games in the relegation zone, in which the penultimate position of the table alternated with the penultimate.
The victory against Sevilla, combined with the defeats of Eibar, Huesca and Deportivo Alavés allowed Elche to give a lug on the table and now stand with a margin of two points on the descent, which gives him some margin to face the demanding calendar that lies ahead with three consecutive visits to Madrid, Seville and Getafe.
Elche, in addition, is the only team involved in the permanence that still has a pending match, although of maximum difficulty, since it will face the sevillista team in the Sánchez Pizjuán.
The improvement of the Elche team has coincided with the arrival on the bench of the Valencian coach Fran Scribe, who has added six points in the four games he has led the team.
