The first phase of Second B is coming to an end. There are only two matchdays left for most teams, three for some that have postponed matches, and is already getting to know the first teams that secure a ticket to play the next season in the First RFEF and those that are going to suffer a reduction as a pussycat, with options of two.
The First RFEF is the new category that will be created in Spanish football, it will be intermediate between the Second and the current Second B. It will be accessed by the first three classified of each subgroup and the winners of the access phase, who will play it those that remain between the 4th and 6th or 7th position (in the case of the two subgroups with eleven teams). Thus, In these last days it is already being known who is mathematically classified among the first three and, therefore, they have a ticket for the First RFEF under the arm. Of course, of the 30 who finish those positions, four will be able to go up to LaLiga SmartBank.
For now, Burgos and Cultural Leonesa are classified from subgroup 1B, from A none, although there are almost the Unionistas and Zamora. In group 2, only two are classified from B: Tudelano and Calahorra, both with 30 points and seven more than Mutilvera, fourth in the table. Of the 3A there are none mathematically, although Nàstic, who has three games left to play, takes five points from Badalona, fourth and with only two pending games. The Ibiza, from 3B, you have already secured your ticket for the First RFEF. It is in group 4 where there is still no team that has made sure to be in the top three with two days to go. That yes, the Linares is it virtually, it has 30 points and six more than the affiliates of Seville and Betis, fourth and fifth respectively. And in the fifth group, it has a representative insured for each subgroup: Sanse from A and Badajoz from B.
But just as promotions are being decided, the same is happening with demotions. With the creation of the First RFEF, anyone who stays in Second B next season will suffer an automatic reduction, since this category will go from being the third at the national level to the fourth. Those teams that automatically go down will be those that remain in this first phase between 7th or 8th place (in the case of subgroups 2A and 3A) and 10th or 11th. The teams that remain in those positions also run another risk; the one with the double descent. They are the teams that will play the permanence promotion. The losers will go down to what is now Third Division and it will be the fifth category next year.. A disaster for those affected. Two descents in one season.
Up to twelve teams are currently in this situation. Salamanca and Guijuelo (1A) no longer have options, since they add 15 and 9 points respectively and the salvation is marked by Deportivo with 23. The accounts do not go to the Covadonga, from subgroup 1B. In Group 2B there are also two descendants: Haro Deportivo and Izarra, which only accumulate 12 points. Of course, the two days of this group will be heart attack: direct duels between Ejea, Tarazona and Osasuna B. Two of them could fall. In 3B the Valencia Mestalla, bottom with 12 points.
In group 4 there are several declines already decided. It is the case of Marine in 4A. He has 10 points and the salvation is marked by Cádiz with 22. Two renowned clubs are in trouble: Recreativo (18) and Marbella (17), although it is more complicated by Las Palmas Atlético (15). From 4B they will not be able to access the First RFEF on Lorca Deportiva and Yeclano. And, finally, Group 5 have suffered the first decline andl Getafe B (5A), Villarrobledo and Socuéllamos (5B).
