Fran Escribá: “It is angry to lose a point that we deserved and had close to”

Elche's coach, Fran Escribá, acknowledged after his team fell 2-1 in Granada that “it is maddening to lose a point” that he believes they deserved and that they had “close.”

“It was a very close game in which it was difficult to win. The logical thing was to end in a draw, but they were right and we were wrong, although we had the last option, “said Escrib after the clash in a telematic press conference.

The Elche coach believes that “the tie was fair seeing the merits of both teams” and argued that “the justice of football is difficult to calibrate” and that “sometimes you win these games and sometimes you lose them.”

“We have enough experience to deal with these situations,” said Escribá, who considered that his team is “strong at the mental level” and that now they have to “think about Sevilla, which is what is coming.”

He also stressed that “there are points and a lot of league”, and that “everything that is adding helps in the score and in the mood; nobody thought this was going to be easy, “he said.

Escribá indicated that in the remainder of the season “direct confrontations are going to be important” for all the teams that are down.

On the Colombian Johan Mojica and the Argentine Emiliano Rigone, who had to be replaced with physical problems, he clarified that in both cases they did so to “not take risks.”
