Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, who was Premier Champion with Leicester in 2015-16, has been loaned to Turkish Kasimpasa until the end of the season. This was announced this Monday by the Stamford Bridge club itself.
Drinkwater has been unable to secure a spot at Chelsea, where he has not played since the 2018 Community Shield. The 30-year-old English international, who joined Leicester in 2017, has been on loan at Burnley (2019-2020) and Aston Villa (2020).
Maurizio Sarri, a former Chelsea manager, said in 2019, when he was managing the 'blues', that Drinkwater had no future at the club as it did not suit their style of play. In addition, the medium was accused of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Drinkwater's debut for the Burnley was delayed after the player damaged his ankle ligaments in an altercation outside a nightclub.
Kasimpasa are ranked 15th in the Turkish League, 6 points above the relegation zone. Another player so far in the Premier, Mesut Özil, has left Arsenal and will play for Fenerbahçe.
