Zidane, isolated by the virus

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is isolated in quarantine for having been in direct contact with a positive for COVID-19, as reported by the program Gamers de La Sexta and was able to confirm AS. The Real Madrid coach is in perfect condition, but, in compliance with LaLiga protocol, he did not lead the session this morning while waiting to know the result of the PCR test he has undergone.

Zidane went to Real Madrid City first thing in the morning. There in Valdebebas he underwent, like the rest of the squad, the PCR test round prior to Saturday's game (9:00 p.m., Movistar LaLiga) against Osasuna. In addition, in his case he also underwent a rapid antigen test, in which he was negative. The club will not receive the results of the PCRs performed on both Zizou and the players until at least tonight.

Waiting to know the result of these tests, Zidane must remain isolated and without maintaining contact with the team. If it tests negative, LaLiga will decide whether to authorize Zidane to carry out his duties normally and travel with the team to Pamplona or else you need to prolong the isolation. In addition to Saturday's meeting at El Sadar (which in turn is threatened with being suspended due to the storm) of having to quarantine, the French coach may also miss the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup that Madrid will play on Thursday 14 (21 : 00, #Vamos) against Athletic in Malaga.

The team has its last training session scheduled before the match against Osasuna tomorrow, Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Valdebebas. After the session, the team will travel to Pamplona to avoid that the complications caused by the storm could prevent them from traveling to the Navarran capital on the day of the match.

Five positives in the white template after quarantine

Five players from the Real Madrid first team have tested positive for coronavirus since the competition was resumed after confinement. Mariano was the first to be isolated, back in July, when the team returned to training to prepare for the Champions League game against City after enjoying a week of vacation after winning League 34.

So far this season, four players have suffered infections. The virus raged on the white locker room in November. On day 2 Militao was the first to fall. The Brazilian defender was isolated for 17 days until he tested negative and missed the two games against Inter in the Champions League and the league visits to Valencia and Villarreal. Five days later, and just before the selection break, it was Casemiro and Hazard who tested positive. The midfielder missed the matches against Valencia and Villarreal while the Belgian was only low for the first of them.

The last Real Madrid player to test positive was Jovic, on November 20 after returning from a national team break in which he had shone with Serbia. The Serbian linked the infection with a muscle injury with which he added eight games out. Despite being called up in the last four games, he has not reappeared.
