Diego Costa paves the Milik road

Atleti has been working for months to replace Diego Costa, which, as AS reported this Sunday, has asked the club to terminate their contract for personal reasons. The possible goodbye of the Spanish-Brazilian would pave the way for the signing of Arkadiusz Milik, the first name on Andrea Berta's list. In June, AS revealed the telematic meeting between the forward, his agent and the rojiblanco manager who has maintained constant contact with the player's environment, whose situation is very complicated.

Napoli has separated him from his project by not having found an agreement for its renewal: Last summer he negotiated with Juventus and, above all, with Roma, for which the forward also passed the medical examination. In the end, there was no agreement. Before Christmas, Aurelio De Laurentiis met with the Polish representatives and reported that the player's price is still 18 million euros, even though his contract expires in June. In addition, it confirmed the pending lawsuits for the mutiny of a year ago and for image rights (due to the advertisement of a restaurant).

Juventus had also returned to the charge proposing a swap with Bernardeschi that the southerners rejected, while Atleti, as reported by AS, once again considered the signing of the forward a priority. To present an offer to Napoli, however, it was necessary to do without Diego Costa, something that until a couple of weeks ago seemed very complicated, and that today has become more possible than ever.

De Laurentiis in January will lower his claims and accept an offer of around 10 million euros. It will be necessary to negotiate, but the colchoneros, without the Spanish-Brazilian, will be able to accelerate. Milik, whom Napoli did not enter in any competition, wants to change of scene as soon as possible so as not to lose your place in the next European Championship. And Atleti's call would be perfect to make the big leap.
