The Censorship Vote Table, in charge of validating the motion process against the current FC Barcelona board, recorded a total of 3,734 signatures on its first day on Tuesday. Of this amount, a total of 3,656 were validIn other words, only 78 signatures were canceled, for different reasons, thus completing a total of 97.9% of signatures that passed the cutoff.
Some numbers that represent a real setback for the current board of directors, especially because some sectors speculated on the possibility that there were a total of 5,000 invalid signatures in the process, of the more than twenty thousand presented by the promoters of the motion, which would result in 20% incorrect signatures. Well, on the first day of signature verification, only 2% of paperwork incorrectly completed or that the membership number does not accompany the real one has been detected.
At this rate, out of almost 4,000 signatures checked per day, the process could be ended before the deadline, set for Friday, October 9. And it is that in principle when the number of valid signatures -16,521- is reached, it will no longer be necessary to keep counting more, beginning the electoral process to find a date, between ten to twenty business days, for the referendum.
The promoters of the motion of censure delivered a total of 20,687 signatures on September 17. If the 2% percentage of invalid signatures is maintained, the total number of partners who would support a change in the current board chaired by Josep Maria Bartomeu would be 20,273. A figure as overwhelming as it is astonishing and that could make the president rethink the idea of continuing to the last consequences.
It should be remembered that the Censorship Vote Table is made up of a president, Josep Maria Vallbona, delegate of the Catalan Football Federation, two members of the board, Marta Plana and Jordi Argemí, and the first two signers of the motion, Jordi Farré and Josep Triadó.
Starting tomorrow, the members of the Table will return to the club to continue with their validation. The hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. On this second day it is expected to validate another 4,000 more. If it is achieved, the promoters would already be touching 50% of necessary signatures and that in the second day of the constitution of the Table.
