Bielsa confirms that he is still at Leeds

Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds coach, assured in a press conference that he is staying this season directing said English. “I will be working this season at Leeds United. Everything has been sorted out and I will definitely stay here this season. The club, the fans and the players deserve to play in the Premier League,” said the Argentine.

Bielsa came to Leeds in 2018 with the club in the Championship (English Second Division) and signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional one. Last season Leeds achieved their first promotion to the Premier League in 16 years.

Since the last game in the Championship, on July 22, Bielsa explained that he has not yet had a single day of vacation and that since then he has been working on this new season which will start for Leeds on Saturday at Anfield against Liverpool.

“Liverpool are a champion with a very consistent style of play. Without a doubt they are one of the best teams in the world,” Bielsa said.

“The work that Klopp has done everywhere he has been has given him the opportunity to shine. Anything he says would be repeating the praise he has already received,” added the Leeds coach.
