Real Madrid will wear the golden La Liga patch throughout the season, which accredits it as the current champion of the competition. It will be the first time in its history that the white team wears on its jersey the badge that accredits it as a defender of the LaLiga Santander title, since the distinction was introduced in the 2018-2019 campaign. Barcelona has been the team that has worn it in the first two years.
The emblem, round and 3.5 centimeters in diameter, will be placed on the right sleeve, above the traditional LaLiga patch worn by all teams.. Represents the beat (heartbeat) that LaLiga is developing as a brand image and inside it has “19/20” inscribed in reference to the season in which Madrid were proclaimed league champions, the 34th in the Whites' record.
Madrid will release the golden patch on Sunday 20 (9:00 p.m., Movistar LaLiga) against Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena, in the match corresponding to the second day of the League. It should be remembered that Real Madrid's first match in the championship, against Getafe, has been postponed so that both teams had more preparation time after playing European competition in August.
The patch will also be commercially available in Real Madrid stores for fans who wish to include that triumphant gold badge on their official jersey.
