Betis scores Aaron Martín

Real Betis have tested Mainz 05 with the idea of signing the full-back left-handed Aaron Martín, U21 international with Spain to which the Germans signed last summer, pfrom Espanyol -in exchange for 6 million euros-, after having a campaign transferred to their ranks.

Aaron Martin performed at a very good level in the ranks of Mainz during a season and a half, but since last February it has lost prominence after the arrival of Achim Beierlorzar to the bench, who is betting on placing the veteran in his demarcation Daniel Borinski (32 years old), who started the season playing right back and then left-handed inside.

Betis, through its sports director, Antonio Cordon, has explored the possibility of signing Aaron Martin -according to Abc-, but Mainz does not accept an assignment with an option to buy and asks for more than 6 million for the transfer, so the positions are quite far away.

The green-and-white club keeps the route of Alfonso Pedraza, to whom he was on loan last season -with an irregular performance due to injuries- and for which he did not exercise the purchase option set at 10 million euros, plus 4 in variables.

Pedraza only has a contract with Villarreal this season, where he has never felt too valued -according to him- and the player was very excited about the idea of returning to Real Betis, although the severity of Alberto Moreno's recent injury, which will make him miss a large part of the season, has made Villarreal stop his departure, for now, because a few days ago he closed the transfer of another left-handed back, Xavi Quintillá, to Norwich, and to go out Pedraza coach Unai Emery would be left alone with the veteran Jaume costa for said demarcation.

“I am where I wanted to be,” he said Pedraza last August 2019 during his presentation as a Real Betis player. And in July 2020 he said goodbye with a “See you soon, Musho Betis!” of the Betic fans.
