Two young people are shot dead in a fight between Santos and Palmeiras fans

Two club fans Saints, of 21 and 22 years, were shot dead in a fight with fans of the Palmeiras, in the metropolitan area of ​​the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, official sources reported this Monday.

The event occurred the day before in the town of Mauá, after the dispute of the classic paulista between Palmeiras and Santos at the Morumbí stadium, for the fifth day of the Brazilian Championship and which resulted in a 2-1 victory for the former.

Police arrested a 21-year-old who confessed to being the author of the shots that ended the lives of the two Santos fans, according to the Sao Paulo Public Security Secretariat in a statement.

A third fan was bullet wound, albeit mildly, and after receiving medical attention, he was discharged.

According to the preliminary investigation, the fight broke out during a party where they were ultras fans both Palmeiras and Santos, among other groups of people.

At one point, the confessed perpetrator of the crime, a fan of the Sao Paulo green team, drew a gun, fired at the Santista fans and fled quickly in a vehicle with two other young people.

Soon after, officers managed to find the suspects and took them to a Police station.

There, the other two young men who accompanied the author of the shots were interrogated as witnesses and immediately released, according to the note from the regional secretariat.

Brazilian authorities have also collected other testimonials to clarify the facts and discover what was the reason for the start of the fight between the two groups of fans.

The confessed author was transferred to a jail public of Sao Paulo, where it remains at the disposal of Justice.
