The Serbian Sinisa Mihajlovic, coach of Bologna, has tested positive for COVID-19 in the control that was carried out on Friday on his return to the city, the Italian club reported in a statement.
The Balkan, according to Bologna, is “absolutely asymptomatic” and will remain in isolation for the next two weeks, as established by national protocol.
The first team players, the rest of the coaching staff and the club's employees will undergo new medical tests this Monday.
The case of Mihajlovic is a new positive in Italian football. This same Sunday, Fiorentina announced those of Erick Pulgar and Simone Ghidotti, who have also started the quarantine period.
Mihajlovic announced last winter that he suffered from leukemia from which he was able to recover after several months of treatment.
