In a summer in which Gareth Bale, once again, is once again the scourge in Real Madrid's offices by refusing to leave the club, it seems that he is close to causing another setback that is none other than that of his call with the Wales national team. In the absence of his official confirmation, the Madrid player will be summoned by the coach, Ryan Giggs, for the duels on September 3 and 6 against Finland and Bulgaria respectively.
This will cause the player, like the rest of the white internationals, to be unavailable for Zidane in Valdebebas and out of the white preseason. It can also be a source of injury, as it would not be the first time that the British player, for forcing himself to play with his national team, has been a victim of the FIFA virus.
But beyond that, what his call-up with Wales announces is that, as he did on previous occasions, the player could send some kind of message about his future.
Together with the media in his country he feels more comfortable and it is from there that he has sent the last messages that his manager, Jonathan Barnett, has not launched.
Wales, Golf, Madrid in that order
The latest episode of Bale's ‘out of tune’ with his selection is perhaps the best known. It happened in November 2019, when the player posed with a flag of his country under the motto “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order ”in a joking attitude that indicated his list of priorities in life and in which Real Madrid occupied a residual place despite the fact that it is the club that pays him to play football. From then on, the Madrid fans put a cross on him – another one – and let him know in the immediate home game in which Bale participated where he took a loud whistle when jumping onto the pitch.
Thus, a new schism is looming between Real Madrid and Gareth Bale. One more to add to a list of this relationship that does not end up fragmenting and that is already very far from being able to be fixed beyond a friendly exit that does not seem to be going to happen until the Welshman ends his contract, in 2022 .
