Quique González vindicates himself

Last season was not easy for Quique
Gonzalez. The forwards feed on goals and the Valladolid, in the campaign of his debut in First Division, did not celebrate any, being relegated to the last positions of the rotation of Joseph
Luis
Mendilibar. Bad feelings that the striker tries to leave behind in a preseason in which he has a clear ambition, a goal between eyebrows: to vindicate himself.

The gunsmith attacker has started on the right foot. On Friday, in the first summer friendly, in which Eibar beat Mirandés (3-0), Quique
Gonzalez jumped onto the grass in the starting eleven and was in charge of putting the 2-0 on the scoreboard after taking advantage of a service from Kike
Garcia. There is no better medicine for a striker coming off a losing streak than to score.

“It is clear that not only for me, but for any striker, scoring goals is a confidence boost,” he acknowledged after the match. “The goals are what makes the difference between three points, one or none. But we have to give many more things ”.

The 30-year-old from Valladolid signed for Eibar last summer from Deportivo, where he had scored 16 goals in Segunda, in exchange for 3.5 million. In his debut in First he played 15 games, in which he did not score. Despite this, his idea is to continue at Eibar and earn a place.

On the collective level, Quique
Gonzalez he was satisfied with the team's performance in the first test. “We have come out with that desire to do things, with that ambition, trying to capture what the coach asks of us since training. I think we have worked well. Now what we have to do is add minutes to the legs and get ready ”.
