He confesses to leaving with a personal thorn “but not with the club to which I am super grateful”.

– What has disappointed you the most in the last stage as a parakeet?

“I had dreamed many times what my farewell to the club would be like and without a doubt, I would never have dreamed it like that, in these circumstances that we live in, and with the team in Second Division. But in life everything comes and things have to be accepted as they come. I just want to convey gratitude to the club that gave me the opportunity to be at home and with my family. I have many things to thank everyone for who has shared with me these years at the Ciudad Deportiva. Many people who have treated me like never before, I am very proud to have belonged to this club. I don't care what happened, I will always be very grateful and proud to be a parakeet. My children are and here we have had the best years ”.

– Was it time to leave?

“I did not feel that it was the moment to separate us because I like to finish things well, not leaving the team in Second. I think I could have contributed things and helped in Second. You never want to leave when things are bad. But the idea of the club was different from mine; In the end I can't do more My idea was not to finish like this because I think this club deserved to finish better ”.

– What moment is left of your long career as a parakeet?

“I'll stick with the game that got us into the Europa League and the games we played in Europe, as there was a lot of desire to play in a European competition, although then the year was as it was.”

– Are you sad?

“It is a sad moment for everything. Not only because we ended up this way but also because we have had a very hard year, very complicated for everyone. In the end, I must thank all the fans who have respected me, not elsewhere, who have not respected me, nor do I give them time. There are many people who have helped me since I arrived here and we apologize to them for everything that has happened ”.

– Has it been pointed out more to you than to others?

“We finished the captains and everyone at the end, the whole team, we finished very marked. At the sporting level everything has gone very badly; It was a year that we started badly and that has been very long. I take my share of the blame because that's what we're here for. It has been a global fault of many factors, starting with us, the players, the main culprits “

– When do you start dealing with the termination of your contract?

“They tell me that he does not count on me 2 or 3 days after the end of the season. And from there we have followed a normal negotiation, we parted ways, but we are not going to have any problems. I am very grateful to this club ”.

– In these 9 years, the club had the opportunity to take a step forward and it was not done?

“You have always tried to take steps forward. There has always been a team that competed, even 4 or 5 years ago when the club suffered financially. Now we all have a bitter thought for the last bad year, but the club has done good things. Now I think there is a team and a coach to go up, if they are allowed to work and the environment helps. There is a team to give joy to the fans and return to the First Division ”.

– Does he leave with a thorn in the tooth?

“Yes for having left the team in Second. But it is not a thorn with the club, but more personal because it has been a bad season and I cannot turn it around. I would have liked to finish in a better way and not leave the team in Second. It would never have crossed my mind to leave like this, but the stages are over and I am very grateful to this club ”.

– You had Vicente Moreno as a teammate at Xerez, what did the coach tell you?

“I talk to Vicente when he arrives and I tell him that if I have to be there I will give my best as always. I don't know if I could stay or not. In the end everything has come to fruition and that's it ”.

– Have you been affected by criticism from a part of the fans?

“Criticism is always acceptable, but another thing is lack of respect, that is not acceptable. There are people who have disrespected me and they do not deserve my respect or my time ”.
