Koeman stands out among the candidates for the Barça bench

The board of directors that Barcelona will celebrate tomorrow will certify, among other things, the end of the Quique Setién stage in front of Barcelona. The name of your substitute must be announced as soon as possible for a simple practical matter since the season begins in three weeks and Dutchman Ronald Koeman is the most prominent candidate to lead the new Barça, the one from Bartomeu's last term.

The option of the former Barcelona player is the one that prevails over the candidacy of Mauricio Pochettino, which seemed to be the favorite last Friday. The Argentine coach was already on the verge of arriving at the Camp Nou last January when Valverde was fired and no agreement was reached with Xavi Hernández.

Pochettino maintains a very good relationship with Ramon Planes, attached to the technical secretariat with whom he already agreed at Espanyol as well as with Bartomeu. However, his Spanish past and his statements against Barcelona have weighed down his candidacy. The social and part of the board's rejection of Pochettino has favored Koeman, although there are also members of the board who believe that since it is a year of transition due to the elections, the chosen one should be García Pimienta, the subsidiary's technician until the elections are held.
