Idle project: no signings in Pellegrini's first month

It has been a month since Manuel Pellegrini was introduced as Betis's new coach and his project is slowing down: so far no signing has been carried out despite the needs of a squad that was very far from its goal last season. The economic adjustments minimize the option of a revolution in the green and white establishment, but they do urge certain reinforcements in a project aimed at recovering certain virtues of the past. Less than a month before the start of the league championship, the Chilean coach has no new face in his questioned squad.

The current sports management, led by Antonio Cordón, intends to accelerate movements in the coming days, with the goal and the center of the defense as priority scenarios. After signing record numbers in signings last summer, the brake of not playing in Europe and the loss of value of part of his squad condition this preseason. Pellegrini, meanwhile, seeks the best possible harmony with a squad that will have changes.

In his presentation on July 13, he stressed the planned plan to incorporate signings to the current squad: “It is difficult to give a number, the templates are changing. There is an important base and some positions will have to be retouched. It will not be an easy market and we will see in which positions we must reinforce and which ones can leave for different reasons. “In this sense, there are already several names on the starting grid such as Feddal and Javi García, both absent from this concentration in Marbella with permits. Chilean coach looks at the future and observes Cordón, the one in charge of making a project with him that, for now, does not expose too many changes of chips waiting to measure the technician's hand on the pitch.
