Ginter closes the door to Atleti: rules out leaving Gladbach this season

Matthias Ginter (26 years old) is happy at Borussia Mönchengladbach. The German central, as reported last week ‘Kicker’, was on Atlético's agenda in case of suffering any loss in the rear axis for the next campaign. Contract ends in 2021 and, therefore, it is an attractive objective, since its price should not be very high when entering its last year of contract. However, as in the case of discussions, two do not negotiate if one does not want to and it seems that the defender is not very for the work.

That, at least, follows from the words of both the player and the sports director of the Teutonic club, Max Eberl. This assured that “It is the first time that we will not sell any of our cornerstones and keep the team strong in this way.” That includes, of course, Ginter, who arrived at the team in the summer of 2017 from Dortmund for 17 million euros and this season has played 31 matches in the Bundesliga (2781 ’in total), scoring a goal and giving two assists and being a key piece for his technician, Marco Rose.

For its part, the German central assured ‘Kicker’Who has no intention of seeking an exit from the club. He states that “of course i am aware of the situation (he is in his last year of contract and there are several clubs that want him), but I have often underlined a lot how well I am in Gladbach” It seems Simeone will have to think of an alternative if she wants to beef up her defense next season.
