Official: David Gallego, new coach of Sporting

David Gallego, who will be presented at a telematic press conference this Wednesday at 12:00 (10:00 GMT), in the press room of El Molinón-Enrique Castro “Quini”, was born on January 26, 1972 in Suria (Barcelona) and his career as a coach has developed in the lower categories of the Real Club Deportivo Spanish, whose first team came to direct in two stages in La Liga Santander, the Spanish First Division.

In addition to participating in national competition, the Catalan coach led Espanyol in the Europa League, a competition in which he was undefeated in the eight games in which he participated. In his first stage as a technician (2017-2018) he replaced in office Quique Sánchez Flores and achieved permanence with four wins and a draw.

The coach will be accompanied, as second coach, by Toni Clavero, who has the title of UEFA PRO national coach, as reported in a statement on Tuesday by the Asturian club.

Clavero worked for ten seasons as a physical trainer and assistant coach in the lower categories and four seasons in the first team of the RCD Espanyol. He was responsible for the conditional area of ​​grassroots football and the Sports Science department of the Barcelona club and served as second coach at Querétaro FC of La Liga BBVA MX, the Mexican First Division.

The club from Gijón also announced that Eduardo Domínguez -born in Vigo and with a long career, both in Spain and abroad- he will be the new physical trainer.
