Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and striker Karim Benzema have been two of the architects of the 34th Real Madrid League. The Belgian and the Frenchman received the LaLiga trophies at the Ciudad Real Madrid that accredit them as the best players in the competition in the months of January and June, respectively.
In the first month of the year, Courtois played all three games played by the team (Getafe, Sevilla and Valladolid) and only conceded one goal. Meanwhile, Benzema achieved this recognition in June after participating in the five games (Éibar, Valencia, Real Sociedad, Mallorca and Espanyol) and adding three goals and one assist.
In the absence of the closing of the championship, both are serious candidates for the award for best player in the championship. While one already has the Zamora trophy under his control, the other fights for the Pichichi with Leo Messi after having curdled an excellent season.
