Fran Mérida will not continue in Osasuna

The midfielder Fran Merida will not continue in the Osasuna Athletic Club, after four seasons in which he has defended the red shirt, so the next game against Mallorca will be the last for the Catalan team in Pamplona.

By participating in this match, Mérida will end his career in Osasuna with 110 official matches, the Navarrese club reports on its website.

Fran Mérida Pérez (March 4, 1990, Barcelona) arrived in Osasuna in the summer of 2016, from the Sociedad Deportiva Huesca.

He was educated in the quarry of Fútbol Club Barcelona and, when he was still a youth, he signed for Arsenal Football Club. He had other destinations such as Real Sociedad, Atlético de Madrid, Sporting de Braga, Hércules and Atlético Paranaense.

Despite debuting in the official game as a rojillo with a goal in La Rosaleda, his first season in Pamplona was not easy, either individually or collectively, as he did not have the expected minutes. However, it became one of the axes of the Osasuna project in the Second Division.

Completed two exceptional seasons as the brain of a team that in the 2017/18 season he was out of the promotion on the last day and that in the following campaign he got the promotion proclaiming himself Second champion. In his return to the First Division, he has also made an important contribution to comfortably achieve the goal of permanence.
