Rubén Blanco, operated on for fracture of the femoral rectum

Celta de Vigo goalkeeper Rubén Blanco underwent a successful surgery to remove the tendon from his rectus femoris last Monday during the game against Atlético Madrid.

The Galician entity reported the intervention of the international sub-21, which was operated by the head of the club's medical services, Juan José García Cota, at the Fremap Hospital in Vigo.

The also doctor of the Spanish soccer team specified that it was a “uncomplicated” surgery in which the complete removal of the tendon from the rectus femoris was verified, forcing the reinsertion of “the tendon in the bone in its anatomical position”, in addition to using “Growth factors”.

García Cota explained that Rubén will remain hospitalized for 24 hours and in a few days the recovery process will begin, which will be completed within four to five months.
