Today, 28 years of Espanyol's salvation thanks to a Moj goal

This Sunday has been fulfilled 28 years of another of Espanyol's dying saves in recent history, a chapter that the bloated parrot hopes to revive now and that the Abelardo's team save yourself again in this unusual campaign finale.

On June 7, 1992 a goal by Andrei Moj led to a draw Espanyol against Real Sociedad and ultimately seal the permanence of the Catalan team, led then by Javier Clemente.

Kodro opened the scoring for Real Sociedad in Atocha and for half an hour Espanyol was under to the promotion drama. But a goal of the Russian defender in 65 ’he avoided a new drama for the parakeets.

With this target, celebrated in a big way, Espanyol avoided the promotion and put a happy ending to a hectic campaign.

That team that scratched Atocha's celebrated draw 28 years ago today, consisted of Biurrun; Mendiondo, Eloy, Moj, Ángel Luís; Urbano, Pizo Gómez, Francisco, Castillo; Escaich and Lluis. Korneiev and Cuxart also played.

Now Espanyol needs a new feat and that some of the Abelardo players “dress up” as Moj to achieve saving targets that cement the permanence of the Catalans.
