The job portal Futboljobs, a digital platform dedicated to creating a global job bank with all jobs related to the world of soccer, has detected in recent months a decrease in the salaries of soccer players and an increase in the demand for sports healthcare personnel, explained Valentín Efe Nicolás, CEO and founder of the company, to EFE.
Botella, son of the former president of Hércules in the last stage of the Alicante club in the First Division, created the company in 2013 as a response to the economic crisis at that time and as an opportunity to “connect” all the people in the world of soccer worldwide.
“We were pioneers in creating a job bank for soccer. It was something that players and coaches demanded of us”, affirmed the Oriolan businessman, who recalled that Futboljobs does not act as a “representative” in operations, since his only income is limited to “the subscription money” for the platform.
“Players, coaches, sports directors, press officers, health professionals. Everyone uploads their CV and their videos to the job bank so that the clubs can get to know them and contact the candidates if they need to, “he explained.
Bottle Nicolás confirmed that as a consequence of the health crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic the demand “has dropped enough” for coaches and players, as he recalled that not only football is in confinement, “but the entire planet.”
However, assured that there has been a higher demand than usual in sports medical personnelAs he explained that with the new security protocols caused by the pandemic, the clubs have been forced to improve on this plot.
“There is also less security and lower wages”, added the businessman, who was convinced that the world of football will quickly adapt to this new form of telematic work “as has happened in other sectors of society.”
“With the restrictions on traveling and the impossibility of holding physical meetings during the health crisis, it is normal for these types of platforms to be used to meet candidates and have a first contact”, Bottle explained, who recalled that his company “in addition to looking for a job also organizes masters and training courses from entities such as the Real Madrid University School, that of Valencia and the Cruyff Institute, among others.”
Futboljobs is a two-way global platform for professionals looking for work and for clubs that want to find a professional for a specific position. It operates in more than 160 countries and on all continents, although lately it has been especially productive in the China, India and Russia markets.
