Segovia will host the central events in Spain of the European Sports Week 2025 in September

Segovia has been appointed the headquarters in Spain of the central events of the European Sports Week 2025, an initiative promoted by the European Commission and promoted in the Superior Sports Council (CSD), which will take place from September 23 to 30 simultaneously in the countries of the European Union.

The central act of the next edition of the European Sports Week, which aims to encourage sports and combat sedentary lifestyle, known as #beactive Night, will take place on September 27 in the artillery square, an emblematic space with the image of the Roman aqueduct.

Segovia collects Vigo’s witness, which housed the central acts of this initiative in 2024, the year in which more than 1,230 sports activities were organized nationally and the record was broken with more than 611,000 participants.

Segovia, that this 2025 holds the title of the European Sports City, stands out for the organization of sporting events from alpine ski to aquatic sports, through cycling and athletics.
