Jordi Valls, appointed Spanish women’s water polo coach for the 2025-2028 cycle

The Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN AQUATICS) has designated Jordi Valls Nart as Waterpolo women’s coach for all purposes for the 2025-2028 cycle, which will end at the Los Angeles Olympic Games, the new coach is presented this Thursday at the Car de Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona) from 12.30 pm.

“The Western Vallés coach has lived as the second coach of Miki Oca and the ‘Staff’ Spanish Spanish Staff the most successful period of Spanish women’s water polo throughout its history, culminated with the gold medal at the Paris 2024 games, and previously with the two silvers of London 2012 and Tokyo 2020, and the iconic gold of the World Cup in Barcelona 2013,” said the RFEN on Wednesday.

That press release indicated that, “before its prolific stage” in the RFEN, Valls had been responsible for the Women’s Technification Team of the FCN (2004) and second coach of the male team of the Club Naciació Terrassa (2006-08), having also addressed the women’s children’s team of the Catalan Federation (2011).

“As a category coach, he obtained the golds of the U-20 teams in the World Cups 2011 and Netanya 2021, and the European U-19 title in Funchl 2018, among other successes,” added the RFEN in its text about Valls, born on the 4th of 1977 in Terrassa.

“In January 2025, he directed the absolute national team interim in the first phase of the World League in Alexandroupolis (Greece), with the first position that gave access to the Super Final in the month of April,” concluded the official statement of the RFEN.
