The German team coach hit in Mallorca denies that they made “mistakes”

Leipzig (Alemania), 13 Feb. (dpa/EP) –

The German cycling coach on track, Lucas Schädler, has assured that no real lesson from the spectacular training accident on the island of Mallorca can not extract because they did not make “any mistake.”

Six runners of the team were hospitalized when an 89 -year -old man ran over his car while they made a training session at the end of January.

None of them suffered injuries that endanger their life, but the accident meant that Germany will not be able to participate in the persecution of teams of the current European championships of Belgium due to lack of runners in form.

“We did not make any mistakes, we trained in good condition, in good weather, with clear clothes, on a road in good condition. This accident did not house any risk potential and was not predictable,” said Schädler in a statement from the German Federation of cycling.

“In the future, we must ensure further visibility. You have to always drive with daytime lights, take the time to do, and plan the training route well. This can minimize the risk, but it can never be completely ruled out” .

Schädler said that the absence of the persecution team in Europeans was a setback, but that it is necessary to adopt a positive attitude, since the German team-like many others-is in a transition phase between two Olympic Games.
