The city of Barcelona will host, on May 4, the first stage of the third edition of La Vuelta Ciclista Femenina 25 by Carrefour.es, with the presence of the best teams and cyclists on the international women’s scene in the streets and most emblematic spaces of the city in its initial stage.
The mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, and the general director of Unipublic, organizer of La Vuelta Femenina 25, Javier Guillén, have agreed that the Catalan capital will host the start of this test, something that consolidates Barcelona as the world capital of cycling and that It joins the celebration in 2026 of the Grand Departure of the Tour de France 2026.
For the mayor of Barcelona, the celebration of the start of La Vuelta Femenina 2025 reinforces Barcelona as a promoter of women’s sports and consolidates the city’s commitment to promoting cycling among Barcelonans. Barcelona was an exit from La Vuelta 23 and will be an exit from the Tour de France in 2026.
“It joins initiatives that strengthen the role of women and sport, such as the celebration, during the 37th edition of the Copa América, for the first time in the history of the first women’s regatta,” said the mayor.
