MADRID 12 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish trials rider Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) won this Saturday in the second round of the X-Trial World Indoor Championship held in Chambéry, France, to take the lead overall.
The 36-time world champion snatched first place from fellow Spaniard Jaime Busto (Gas Gas), although both were tied on 35 points. Bou showed from the beginning in the gala event that he arrived determined to make up for the result obtained a couple of weeks ago in Madrid.
After completing the six action zones of the first pass, the Repsol Honda rider tied on 10 points with Adam Raga, placing him in second position. With the new regulations, Piera’s team managed to qualify directly to play in the final.
On the decisive lap, Bou dominated the Super Pole and took his first victory of the year ahead of Busto and his teammate Gabriel Marcelli. The X-Trial World Championship will return next weekend, on the 17th, in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
“Today I am very happy, I think that after the round in Madrid the whole team deserved this result. We have worked a lot these weeks and it has been reflected. The race has gone very well and it has been an incredible final, we know that this is the way forward. Thank the team for all the work they have done after Madrid to be here at their best,” Bou said in statements provided by his team.
