The tragic death of the founder of Mango, at the age of 71 and after falling down a ravine from a height of 150 meters on the mountain in Barcelona has shocked the business sector and also friends like Queen Letizia. The CEO of the company, Toni Ruiz Tubau, has remembered the businessman almost a week after his death with an extensive letter on his work social network.

“It’s been less than a week since our beloved Isak Andic left us in a tragic and unexpected way. Gone too soon, with a thousand things to dowith so many pending conversations, with brilliant ideas and future ambitions to continue sharing,” he noted in the letter, published this Thursday.

The executive added: “And in this intimate reflection to find meaning and regain strength to continue and look forward, I have found many of the lessons of my relationship with Isak since we met at the end of 2014.” In this way, this is how he remembers him: “Isak has been a visionary, a leader, a dreamer, someone who believed that the sky is the limit, but with a privileged ability to go from ideas to realities, someone who made the difficult easy“.

In this sense, he added: “His strategic vision, his sensitivity for design, art, fashion and his passion for details draw us to the profile of a humanist entrepreneur and businessman. He emanated a unique capacity for active listening. , connecting with his interlocutors and showing genuine empathy at all times. His way of delegating inspired and empowered all of us around him, making us grow personally and professionally“.

Toni Ruiz Tubau recalled what he learned from him: “Isak taught me that teams make the difference. At Mango we know how to surround ourselves with excellent professionals and better people. This is another reflection of the values ​​that Isak always transmitted to us: the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit; attention to detail and sensitivity to all your surroundings“.

For all this, he has expressed: “One of the greatest lessons I take away from him is that we must embrace and lead the changes. “Isak had a unique talent and ability to constantly reinvent himself and the project, anticipating the transformations of the industry without ever losing sight of the essence of Mango’s differential values.”

After the tragedy, Ruiz Tubau is devastated, but he proudly remembers everything he experienced with Andic: “I feel deeply proud and grateful to have been worthy of your trust. by delegating to me the responsibility of ensuring the day-to-day running of the company during these years and I am also convinced that we will know how to honor and continue his legacy. “His ability to dream, inspire and teamwork is a leadership lesson that has transformed my professional and personal life.”

Shock for Isak Andic

Important businessmen such as Juan Roig, the owner of Mercadona, and well-known faces such as Carolina Monje, designer and ex of Aless Lequio, passed through the Isak Andic funeral home. This Tuesday, moreover, more than 3,000 people gathered at the Mango Campus to say goodbye to its founder in an emotional memorial event in which they praised his inspiring leadership and vision throughout his forty years at the head of the company. The event was attended by the Andic family, accompanied by the Mango management committee and its CEO, who already highlighted: “We are together, united, with the will to continue with the project and the legacy of Isak Andic”.

Andic lost his life at the age of 71 after falling from a 150-meter-high ravine while enjoying a day of hiking with his son Jonathan through the Montserrat massif, 45 kilometers from Barcelona. The Mossos d’Esquadra concluded in their investigation that Andic’s death was accidental. The preliminary proceedings remain open until the Catalan police draft and send the final report to the court, which will not be before a couple of weeks.

The businessman of Turkish origin had decided to take this excursion with his eldest son, with whom he had recently had differences. She stayed with him with the intention of reconciling. According to sources close to the family, as we have told, father and son managed to make peace within the framework of a walk that began early and in complete privacy.
