LaLiga announced this Monday that it has officially joined the ‘Fit for Life Network of Athletes against Racism’, an initiative promoted by UNESCO, a specialized agency of the United Nations, to combat racism and inequality through sport.
In this way, LaLiga “takes another step in its commitment to the fight against racism and discrimination” with an adhesion that was formalized within the framework of the UNESCO Global Forum, held this Monday in Barcelona and where this network was publicly presented. .
Furthermore, as indicated by the employers’ association in a press release, its president, Javier Tebas, will participate in this Forum next Wednesday, December 11, “reinforcing with his presence the role of the organization as a leader in the promotion of equality and inclusion in sport”.
The ‘Fit for Life Network’, which brings together high-level athletes, academic experts and public and private organizations from around the world, is established as a platform to promote awareness-raising, knowledge production and anti-racism policy formulation in and through sport.
LaLiga, which is recognized for its outstanding work in this cause, contributes its experience in campaigns to raise awareness and promote equality and with this membership it also legitimizes and enhances initiatives such as the LaLiga VS platform, “consolidating its impact in an area that will continue to be priority in the coming years”.
