Remco Evenepoel, injured after colliding with the door of a van while training

Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel, double Olympic champion, was hospitalized this Tuesday, without knowing the extent of his injuries, after colliding with the door of a mail van during training in the Belgian city of Oetingen, near Brussels, according to the Belgian news agency.

Photographs show the 24-year-old cyclist sitting in front of an ambulance, but the exact circumstances of the accident are still unclear, as is the extent of his injuries. The Belgian was hospitalized for the incident.

Evenepoel won the time trial and road race at the Paris Olympics. And at the end of last September he was proclaimed time trial world champion for the second consecutive time.
