Isabel Preysler, escorted by her daughters and awarded with the designer Diane von Füstenberg

MUJER HOY magazine is in luck. Firstly, because it has been in the market for 25 years and that figure already deserves an anniversary party in itself, and secondly because it has delivered its annual awards, and this time one of them has gone to the hands of the company itself. Isabel Preysler. Grateful and excited, as the always remembered Lina Morgan would say, Isabel confesses to me that, in a way, she is overwhelmed with this recognition that she does not know if she deserves.

Evidently, the ‘queen of hearts’ for decades has been a model for many women who have tried to copy her style or knowledge of her life and although she may not believe it, she is part of the national heritage, especially of fashion and couché. “When Lourdes (Garzón) told me, my response was that I didn’t deserve it but in the end here I am. I feel very honored and I also love the other winners so the gift is double,” she assures me.

True to her style, she came with an elegant design by the Spanish Roberto Diz in black and white and with a bateau neckline that perfectly marked the collarbone, undoubtedly one of the best parts of Preysler’s anatomy. Isabel was frankly excited, even though her good friend Tita Muñoz had died hours before, but it is not every day that one receives a trophy of this caliber and that is why she posed on the cover of the aforementioned publication. She went to the appointment looking single and the months go by and it becomes increasingly clear that it is the best state a woman can have no matter how much others try to match her. Isabel has known what it means to live as a couple since she was almost a teenager and that is probably why she now lives life in a totally different and free way, surrounded by friends and her grandchildren, who are also the ones she laughs with the most: “These days the children are at home and I am happy sharing so many moments,” he adds.

Upon his arrival at the headquarters of the presidency of the Community of Madrid, where this gala dinner was held, he received greetings from the director of the magazine Lourdes Garzón and all the attendees who gathered for the anniversary party. At his side were his two daughters, Tamara Falcó and Ana Boyeraccompanied by their respective husbands. Tamara chose a very original design from the Carolina Herrera brand with straight lines and a beige tone while Ana went with a very tight dress by the French Hervé Léger that showed off her great body and that she accessorized with jewelry from Rabat and sandals from Aquazzura.

With Christmas just around the corner, you can see that Madrid is more alive than ever. But Isabel was not the only winner of this gala. The designer also received tribute Diane von Furstenbergwho we will always thank for inventing the ‘wrap’ dress that fits curvy women like a glove. Diane had by her side Hubertus de Hohenlohewho are family for a reason (the day before he organized a dinner in his honor). The designer’s thank you speech was what you would call a delight. Fun, confident, intelligent, seductive… She began by remembering the year she spent as a student at the University of Madrid where she met a young man very interested in politics who later turned out to be Felipe González. She talked about her struggle to be an independent, free woman, a challenge in living as a man but with a woman’s body and how her famous dress made her triumph. It was shocking to hear the story of his mother, who spent almost a year in a concentration camp and how when she returned to Belgium she weighed 19 kilos. Her mother fed her like a little bird and raised her: “Then she got married and they told her not to have children because she could die. 13 months later I was born and here I am,” she said to applause. It was a richly deserved tribute and a pleasure to spend a night with the great Diane.

Other winners were Carolina Herrera daughter and the Olympic medalists Saul Craviotto y Maria Perez.

Among the guest list was the singer Alaskawho gave the last medical report of her husband Mario Vaquerizo, who will remain in the hospital for a few more days. His meeting with Diane von Furstenberg was captured in an image that they sent via WhatsApp to Pedro Almodóvar himself. Adriana Abascal, Villalonga’s ex-wife, Judge Santiago Pedraz with his wife Elena Hormigos, Ana Botella, Beltrán Gómez-Acebo, Marta Sánchez, Carmen Lomana, Eugenia Osborne and her boyfriend, Blanca Entrecanales with Ignacio Calderón, Lulu Figueroa, Inés de Cominges , Brianda Fitz-James, Marta Sánchez, Macarena Rey…. In charge of the ceremony was Raquel Sánchez Silva on a night that will only be the first of an autumn that promises many red carpets.
