The Government takes a further step to ensure that the Liga F has a presence and economic return in La Quiniela

MADRID, 26 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Government has taken a further step towards ensuring that Liga F has a presence and economic return through La Quiniela following the publication on Thursday of the ‘Prior consultation on a draft royal decree regulating the distribution of the proceeds from the tax on gambling activities obtained from sports-charitable betting’ by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, according to the Spanish Footballers’ Association (AFE).

The union pointed out that this is “a preliminary step so that, as indicated in the published document, the ‘absence of the Professional Women’s Football League (LPFF) as a beneficiary of the collection and prizes of State Sports Betting’ is corrected.”

AFE also indicated that it will make “arguments in favour of the prior consultation so that the economic return obtained has a direct impact on the competition, and therefore on the players themselves, and that the presence of the Liga F matches in La Quiniela is permanent in all rounds.”

“With this incorporation, AFE’s objective is for women’s football to enjoy a new and important source of income, as well as help with its visibility, growth and professionalization, positively impacting the female footballers and the clubs in the Liga F,” added the association chaired by David Aganzo.

He reiterated that “as a representative of female footballers, he has worked tirelessly for this just demand to achieve real equality in this regard and greater visibility and social awareness about women’s football, with constant meetings with institutions and political parties.”

In this regard, he referred to the “important meeting” held by its president, David Aganzo, and the co-director of its Legal Department, María José López, with the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, in which the permanent presence of Liga F matches was discussed.

Also, last June, the Education, Vocational Training and Sports Committee of the Congress of Deputies, after the Popular Party presented a Non-Law Proposal, already approved the permanent presence of Liga F matches on the La Quiniela ticket, highlighting the work carried out by AFE.

At the beginning of the year, a meeting was also held with the president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, at the start of his term, in which the #QuinielasEnFemenino campaign with which he has supported this initiative was once again emphasized.
