Betis wants to hold on to the strength of Villamarín against Mallorca

MADRID, 22 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Betis will be looking for their third consecutive victory on Monday (9:00 p.m.) in the last match of the sixth round of LaLiga EA Sports, in a match in which RCD Mallorca will want to reinforce the good image conveyed by their victory over Real Sociedad.

After starting the championship with draws against Girona (1-1) and Deportivo Alavés (0-0) and a defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu (2-0), the Verdiblancos knew how to correct their course thanks to the support of their fans. The victories against Leganés (2-0) and Getafe (2-1) allowed them to rise to the upper midfield.

Manuel Pellegrini’s team is now ninth with eight points, and faces its third league match in a row at the Benito Villamarín, where it hopes to string together three wins for the first time in almost ten months and maintain its good run. All against a rival against whom it has won in its last five encounters.

The Chilean coach will definitely miss William Carvalho and Isco, and is keeping a close eye on the status of Marc Bartra, Youssouf Sabaly and Johnny Cardoso, who worked on the sidelines during Saturday’s training session.

Mallorca, meanwhile, are coming into the game in good spirits after winning last Tuesday, in the early game of the seventh round, against Real Sociedad (1-0) with a penalty goal from Abdón Prats. With this, they have put behind them the defeat suffered at home over the weekend against Villarreal (1-2). With one game left, the Balearic team is also in tenth place with eight points, but any slip-up could leave them in a dangerous position.

Jagoba Arrasate will have Toni Lato back after serving a suspension for his sending off against Castellón. However, he will not be able to count on the injured Vedat Muriqi, Javi Llabrés and Pablo Maffeo, who could be joined by the injured Takuma Asano and Siebe van der Heyden.
