Yolanda Díaz’s mermaid look and Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo’s XL bow

Donostia celebrates cinema. The 72nd edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival has begun. The Victoria Eugenia Theatre and the Kursaal were carpeted in red this Friday, September 20. We snuck into the photocall and chose the most dazzling looks on a night of stars.

Among the first to arrive at the festival were Nico Williams, star of Athletic and the Spanish National Team, and Iñaki. They had already announced their attendance at the premiere of The Williamsa documentary by Raúl de la Fuente about the footballers’ family, which was screened in the Zinemira section. It was received with a shower of applause.

We also saw Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo. The actress and president of the Academy of Cinema has chosen a classic dress with a pleated skirt and a strapless top finished with an XL bow. Cayetana has chosen the classic colour block in fuchsia pink combined with red.

Belén Cuesta also posed, looking gorgeous. The actress opted for a wide-leg, oversized trouser suit combined with a matching waistcoat.

And like a star, Yolanda Díaz. The second vice president and Minister of Labor and Social Economy of Sumar has joined forces with her party colleague and Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun. Yolanda has chosen a high-shine mermaid-style dress with an asymmetrical neckline.

254 titles and 694 screenings

This festival promises visits from Pamela Anderson, Monica Bellucci, Jamie Campbell Bower, Johnny Depp, Andrew Garfield, Isabelle Huppert, Franco Nero, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlotte Rampling, Will Sharpe and Tilda Swinton, not forgetting the numerous representation of Spanish cinematography and the teams of Latin American films.

Cate Blanchett and Pedro Almodóvar were also honoured with the Donostia Award. The Australian actress is also the face of the official poster for this edition, and the author from La Mancha is the fourteenth director to receive this award.
