Brazilian ‘Tota’ Magalhães signs with the Movistar Team

MADRID, 10 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Brazilian cyclist Ana Vitória ‘Tota’ Magalhães signed for the Movistar Team on Tuesday, signing a contract for the years 2025 and 2026, after two “promising performances” in her first two seasons in Europe with BePink-Bongioanni and Bizkaia Durango.

“The 23-year-old Brazilian makes the leap to the world’s top category after showing promising performances in her first two years competing in Europe,” Movistar said in a statement released on Tuesday, announcing that Brazil will continue to have a presence in the WorldTour with the signing of ‘Tota’ Magalhães, who has signed a contract with Movistar Team for the next two seasons (2025-26).

It was in 2023 when Magalhães, who had already competed in La Vuelta Femenina the previous year with the Murcian squad Soltec, made the definitive leap to Europe with Bizkaia-Durango. National road champion in 2023 and winner of the ITT in her country last June – already as part of BePink – the rider has already covered other WorldTour events such as Flecha Valona, Strade Bianche, Nieuwsblad, Burgos or a Giro where she shone in 2024 with several breakaways and wore the Maglia Azzurra for best climber.

“I’m super excited, very happy to make this leap. It’s another dream that’s come true and, in addition, I’m making the leap to the top with Movistar Team, a team that I’ve always had a special affection for,” she confessed, before defining herself as an “all-rounder.” “I like to ride aggressively, looking for breakaways, risking everything, enjoying being in the lead. But what I love is teamwork, and that’s what I’m coming to Movistar Team for: to help my teammates as much as possible,” she concluded.
