Repsol will not renew its agreement with Honda in MotoGP

MADRID, 8 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish multi-energy company Repsol announced this Sunday, during the San Marino Grand Prix, that it will not renew its current sponsorship contract with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) in the MotoGP World Championship, which ends on December 31 of this year.

Repsol and Honda joined forces for the first time in 1995, a historic alliance in the world of sport that made them the most successful team in the history of the championship, with 11 team titles – since the award was created in 2002 -, 15 driver titles and 183 victories in the top category of motorcycling.

In addition, the Repsol Honda collaboration has also achieved a record 454 podium finishes in 500cc and MotoGP thanks to riders such as Mick Doohan, Álex Crivillé, Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Marc Márquez.

“Repsol is grateful for HRC’s commitment and dedication over the years of working together,” said the multi-energy company, which also revealed that it will remain linked “to motor racing, with the aim of continuing to develop products and services of the highest quality.”
