Galatasaray announced on Tuesday that it is in “official talks” with Napoli to close the loan of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is already in Istanbul awaiting an agreement between the two clubs.
Osimhen was one of Chelsea’s targets before the transfer window closed in England last week, with the 25-year-old also heavily linked with a move to Saudi club Al-Ahli.
However, Turkey, where the transfer window remains open until September 13, now appears to be his most likely destination as Galatasaray have announced they are in talks to sign the former Wolfsburg and Lille striker.
“Official negotiations have begun with the footballer and his club, SSCN Napoli SPA, regarding the temporary transfer of professional footballer Victor James Osimhen,” the Turkish club said in a statement.
Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli since joining from Lille in 2020, including 26 in their 2022-23 Serie A title win.
