MADRID, 30 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s flag football team finished sixth in the World Championships in Lahti (Finland) on Friday, after losing 24-39 to Canada, while the Spanish men’s team finished fourteenth after losing 41-32 to Panama.

Having secured a ticket to the 2025 Chengdu World Games, the ‘Spartans’ have secured their presence in this tournament. This non-contact form of American football will be an Olympic sport at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, so in the coming years this will be the goal of the players coached by Daniel Castañón.

Chus Batista’s men faced Panama in search of thirteenth place. However, the ‘Espartanos’ only held off their rivals in the first half of the match (27-26); after the break, a partial score of 14-6 meant the defeat of Spain.
