Berezina and Bautista, fifteenth and twentieth in the rhythmic gymnastics all-around competition

MADRID, 8 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish gymnasts Polina Berezina and Alba Bautista finished 15th and 20th respectively in the qualifying round of the individual rhythmic gymnastics all-around competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Thursday, both missing out on the final.

Berezina missed the hoop in her first exercise, as she missed it on a reception with little time left on the clock; thus, almost sobbing as she waited, she received 29.700 points. Bautista, on the other hand, made the first rotation with the ball, also leaving errors and details to be polished, and collected 28.100 points from the judges.

In the second rotation, Bautista with the hoop scored 31.100 points and Berezina with the ball scored 32.750; in the third rotation, Bautista with the ribbon scored 27.650 points and Berezina with the clubs was valued at 32.450; and in the fourth rotation, Bautista with the clubs scored 30.800 points and Berezina with the ribbon scored 30.200.

Berezina thus accumulated 125.100 points, finishing in fifteenth place with a bittersweet comeback; in Bautista’s case, her 117.650 points were enough to finish in twentieth place, out of a total of 24 gymnasts competing in this demanding Olympic All Around.
