Sorloth scores a brace as Atlético rout Kitchee SC

MADRID, 7 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Atlético de Madrid thrashed Kitchee SC (1-6) in Hong Kong with the leading role of their brand new centre forward Alexander Sorloth, who scored a double in just eight minutes of play, his debut dressed in red and white.

Diego Pablo Simeone’s team quickly got on track in their first pre-season test away from Spain. Sorloth appeared where a good ‘9’ was to send a loose ball into the net after a play by Joao Félix and, in the minute, took advantage of a gift from the goalkeeper to make it 0-2.

Following the departure of Álvaro Morata, the Norwegian striker seems to have convinced the red-and-white fans from day one that scoring goals is his thing. In addition, Sorloth gave a recital of what he can offer to ‘Cholo’, pinning down centre-backs, making runs and winning duels in the air with his strong presence.

The rest of the goals were a long time coming and came after the complete change of the starting eleven, with the youth team taking centre stage, with Carlos Artín, Adrián Niño and Thomas Lemar in the final stretch. Atlético will play its last friendly on Sunday against Juventus in Gothenburg (Sweden), still pending the transfer market and its official debut against Villarreal on 19 August in the first matchday of the League.
