MADRID, 3 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s basketball team beat Serbia (62-70) on Saturday in the third and final match of Group A, an important victory that allows the Spanish team to reach the quarter-finals as group leaders and undefeated, and also sending a good message despite the poor end to the match that created some doubts.

The overall score is good, with a great defense that nullified the Serbians for three quarters and with a collective attack within the typical fast attack of the Spanish. In addition, already recovered from her injury, María Conde made a great return to the group, the best of the match with 15 points.

But the negative was the end of the match. When Spain had a +23 point lead, already in the last quarter, the much feared disconnection came along with the expected reaction of the Serbians, who were undefeated like Spain until this duel, and in the end they suffered with the 62-68 with 46 seconds left.
