New meeting between Felipe VI and the king emeritus on the 62nd wedding anniversary of his parents

Felipe VI has met with his father, Don Juan Carlos, at the Vitoria airport. It was this Tuesday, May 14, in the morning in a meeting at the terminal that lasted about 15 minutes, according to information from The vanguard. This meeting coincides with the 62nd wedding anniversary of the emeritus, who married on this day in 1962.

The reunion has also been brought about by their agendas. This morning Don Felipe had an event in Hernani, in Guipúzcoa, on the occasion of the exhibition 100 years of Chillida in the Telefónica Collection. For his part, Juan Carlos landed in Vitoria, where he carried out his medical check-ups.

By chance they met because the plane in which the head of state traveled was going to land at the San Sebastián airport, but for unfavorable weather conditions have finally made landfall in Vitoria. In the terminal premises, the emeritus waited several minutes for his son to arrive, which occurred after 11:00, as Mariangel Alcázar explained. They greeted each other with a kiss and chatted.

From this stopover, the former head of state will head to Santiago de Compostela since the Peinador airport in Vigo is undergoing maintenance work. It is the itinerary of his new visit to Spain, with destination Sanxenxo and in a sporting format: the regattas along the Pontevedra Estuary of the VI Spanish 6mR League, which will be held this May 17.
