Valladolid adds a point for the leadership that overtakes Espanyol

MADRID, 11 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Valladolid and Espanyol drew goalless this Saturday on matchday 39 of LaLiga Hypermotion, with the Pucelanos provisionally reaching the lead alone, while Eibar was left with honey on their lips due to the 2-2 win against the Levante when he found himself second in the table at times.

José Zorrilla experienced a direct duel for direct promotion that did not satisfy anyone, although the locals sleep at the top. The first half had little story, but in the second the script was livened up, with controversy in both areas.

Valladolid was left without a penalty due to the VAR review and Espanyol, without Nico Melamed for a second yellow card in the 65th minute, which he saw for simulating a foul inside the area. With the superiority, Negredo and Monchu forgave the locals, while Pere Milla was close to breaking Masip’s good streak. The Pucelanos goalkeeper claimed his share of prominence in a draw that distances the Catalans from direct promotion.

Meanwhile, Levante frustrated Eibar with the 2-2 in the 90th minute by Bouldini, although shortly before they had warned with a disallowed goal. The ‘granota’ team, which scored an insufficient point to fight for the ‘playoffs’, reacted to Tejero’s double for an Eibar that remains third on 65 points, two behind Leganés, with one more game.

In addition, Racing de Santander established itself in the ‘Top 6’ with a 1-0 win over Mirandés in a dangerous zone, who had no reward for his response after conceding Mboula’s goal in the first play of the match. On the other hand, Sporting beat Andorra (5-2) to react to three days without winning and get into the promotion zone. A double from Juan Otero, Cote, Queipo and Nacho Méndez scored the goals that restore faith to El Molinón, while the Andorrans approach their farewell to the category as bottom.

Marking the relegation was Alcorcón after falling (2-1) against a Racing de Ferrol that, after three defeats, still wants to fight, two points from the ‘Top 6’. The Madrid team played from the 43rd minute with one less due to the red card against Chema in a tough tackle and was able to make it 1-1 in the 82nd minute, but the push of the Galicians left the three points in A Malata thanks to Nico Highlander.
